Welcome Jesse! I think Paul’s planning to start Piranesi discussions next weekend.

Welcome. Discussion questions are going up this weekend.

Apparently I like to repeat things other people have already said. On another note, we’re going to start discussing the book this weekend.

Hey everyone. My name is Joel. I am a Canadian who stumbled across the Book club's Discord after Apocryphal Chris invited me. Enjoyed it there and figured I'd come contribute here as well. I am no literary guru but I enjoy reading!

Welcome in Joel! I've enjoyed your participation in the Discord server - and I too am no lit guru! :D

Welcome Joe! You probably already know that we take it in turns to pick a book each month. So as and when you want to join in that rotation just let us know. The "current book rotation" thread should give you the next couple of months. I set up the monthly discussion areas once the book is settled and whoever has picked the book puts up a few discussion starters at the right time

Hi Joel, and welcome. It's good to have a new member. I'd suggest participating as a fellow reader for a few sessions before jumping into the rotation as a presenter, but only so you can get a taste of what it's like first. To present a book, one needs to have a thick skin because things usually go one of two ways - either one or more people will really dislike the book you picked, which can be bruising on the ego if it's a book you particularly like, or every does like it. in which case the discussion peters out rather quickly into a sequence of 'yeah, what he saids'. So it really is best if there are dissenting voices, I've found. Anyway, we've managed to all get along over the years and are still doing this. I think we started in 2011!
