Signal Lost = 3. Characters

Did the characters engage you? Did you find yourself empathizing with them? Did they feel real to you? Od did they come off as contrived? Which characters stood out to you and why?

I thought the two main characters were well drawn (if a bit juvenile :) ) and there was enough variety and depth to the secondary ones that they had some substance. I guess the black vs white sides were a bit too sharply delineated for me, so for example I'd have liked some sort of sympathetic rationale for the Sol side. If there was any such I missed it.

I thought Fia had some depth to her, but Davik was little more than a walking bag of hormones.

One thing that had real difficulty getting past, though. Davik broke into a prison and took away a prisoner , who they knew nothing about. When that prisoner woke up, everyone immediately trusted her. No-one considered that Fia may have been in prison as a prisoner because she was a criminal who deserved to be there.

I guess if you're the Rebel Alliance you assume that anyone that the Evil Empire imprisoned is probably on your side...
