I'm leaning toward this book for September: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Carpet_Makers
I've heard many good things, and since it has a current Penguin release I think it should be generally available.
And, I think from a subject matter standpoint, it should find broad appeal.
    Translated from the German.
Please check if you can get it digitally.

In the UK it can be obtained from bookshop.org and no doubt elsewhere

Heard good things about that book as well.

I would up for Air by Geoff Ryman for August. Clarke winner and I have never read any of his books.
If it's too difficult to get a hold of let me know and I can change gears.

It's available in ebook or p/b from the UK bookshop.org site and Amazon
