Just checking in to see how everyone is doing with reading Cloud Atlas. Officially September starts in 2 days, but if anyone needs the long weekend to finish up the book, we could start Labour Day. Let me know.

I've been struggling to engage with this, and am only about half-way through. But hopefully I've got past the interminable setup and we can get to the action!
I have seen the film and enjoyed it, so I think I can remember the basic shape of the stories.

Hi everyone, I've posted 2 starter questions for the discussion. I'd like to go over these before presenting my thoughts about particular stories - I see it as talking about the forest before we get to the trees, and also an effort to not post too much at once so the discussion gets fragmented. So that's my plan to get things going.
I think we are a small enough reading group that anyone can post to the thread anything they would like to start us thinking about. I've set up a numbering system but that was to help me keep myself organised, so please if there is something you would like us to talk about just get us started.
I will check in tonight or tomorrow, and post some new things Friday.
